Caring for Orkney's animals in sickness and in health


Northvet Veterinary Group offers a high quality Veterinary healthcare service to the animals of Orkney.
We have 7 Veterinary Surgeons, 3 Veterinary Nurses, an Animal Nursing Assistant, a Practice Manager and 8 Reception/Administration staff.
We all regularly under-go training and Continuing Professional Development to ensure we provide the best possible care and advice for our clients.

With 3 branch surgeries in Orkney, Northvet covers all areas including the outer isles.
Our Kirkwall surgery is where the majority of our staff are based.
This surgery re-opened in July 2009 after a complete refurbishment and has excellent facilities for diagnosis and treatment.
Our large animal surgery in Harray operates from large purpose built premises.
At this surgery we have also installed stocks where horses can be safely secured for examination and treatment.
Our third surgery in Stromness is open for small animal consultations 3 times per week.
We don't like to keep you waiting so both our Kirkwall and Stromness surgeries see animals by appointment.

All 3 of our surgeries have free parking on site.
We provide a 24 hour emergency service 365 days of the year.
Out of office hours please call us as normal and our dedicated emergency team will respond immediately.
