Located just off the northern tip of Scotland we enjoy beautiful sandy beaches, visiting Orcas and other cetaceans, stunning scenery and lots of wildlife. Orkney has a great music scene with various festivals throughout the year, sports centres and clubs, wonderful restaurants and bars, art, culture and world-famous archaeology. No wonder it appears on the top 20 best places to live in the UK!

We are a 10 vet mixed practice with 3 branch surgeries. Our main branch is in Kirkwall where most of our small animal work takes place, we also have a branch open 3 times per week for consultations in Stromness and a branch for farm animal and equine work in Harray.
Due to one of our nurses planning to retire, we have an exciting opportunity for a new RVN to join our friendly and supportive team. Our modern surgery has excellent diagnostic equipment including digital (and digital dental) Xray, the latest in-house laboratory facilities and separate dog and cat wards. We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate veterinary nurse who works well within a small team.
This full-time permanent role is 37.5 hours per week plus Saturday mornings as per the rota (currently 1 in 6). The main duties will be in theatre, with nurse clinics and there will be a small amount of reception work. As we are a mixed practice there would be an opportunity to work with horses and farm animals too.
