Fracture repair

At Northvet our experienced small animal surgeons can perform most orthopaedic surgery procedures. There are some cases which require referral to specialist centres but most fractures can be repaired successfully by us. We have equipment to apply bone plates, external fixators, pins, wires and screws which allows us to treat most broken bones.

Cruciate Rupture

Leona has undergone training to perform Tibial Tuberosity Advancement (TTA) for cruciate ligament rupture. She has now completed over 20 TTA operations and they have all recovered uneventfully. Cruciate rupture is a very common problem in dogs and in most cases requires surgery to have a successful outcome. Thankfully following TTA surgery most will go on to lead normal, active, pain free lives.
